Al started his Pre-hospital career at the age of thirteen as a St John Cadet in Dorset. He trained as, and remains, a Registered Nurse whilst serving in the Army Reserve concurrently, a career which lasted 25 years. He served in Germany, Bosnia and Cyprus and left as a Staff Sergeant.
He also served as a police officer for thirty years and was the lead for Specialist Protection medical support which was based at New Scotland Yard but worked world-wide with an operational element deploying to Sudan, Libya, Ethiopia and Liberia to mention but a few.
He has been commended no less than ten times during his career and was awarded the Order of St John medal in 2007.
Al now responds as a NARS level One paramedic from home in Sculthorpe and dedicates a vast amount of time to being on call when he is not working as an event paramedic or nurse.
