NARS runs an Operational Commander’s course in Norfolk twice each year, subject to demand. For information and to register an interest, please contact us.

This course replaces the old ‘Bronze Commander Course’ and is a requirement that all CCP’s and above are current in this course.

 

The course will be facilitated by Robert James Flute MBA MCPara, FEPS FICPEM and Dr Dave Sloggett, M.Sc., C. Eng., MIET.

Robert joined the Ambulance Service in 1997. He is a professional EPRR practitioner and HCPC registered Paramedic with over 20 years’ experience working in Pre-hospital emergency care and resilience. He was the first ambulance manager to be Chair of Norfolk Resilience Forum 2012-2014 and followed this with Suffolk Resilience Forum 2013-14.

Dr Sloggett has 40 years of experience in the military and law enforcement sectors working in a variety of roles, specialising in the field of intelligence analysis and human behaviour. Dr Sloggett is an authority on Counter-Terrorism in its Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear [CBRN] and conventional forms. He is also highly experienced in the collection and use of intelligence and information to locate and disrupt activities of groups engaged in terrorism and insurgency activities.

Course timings are 08.45 – 16.45 on both days. Lunch and refreshments are included. Cost per delegate is £350+VAT.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a need for the course i.e. likely to be first on scene to a major incident in a managerial role.

Course required equipment: Part of the course will be delivered outside (regardless of weather), appropriate footwear and waterproof high visibility jacket will be required.

The candidate will be formally assessed via written test on day 2 and an incident scenario (delivered on day 2) with the requirement to formulate an incident plan (submitted by candidate via email) within 14 days after the course to encompass all elements taught on the course.

The course is accredited by Asclepius Training LTD and matched to NHS Occupational Standards

Tickets will be £350 plus VAT (total £420) and will include lunch and refreshments.
