The course is based around the criteria for effective paediatric first aid training found in Appendix 1 of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Practice Guidance document for course development and structure. It is typically undertaken by groups such as nursery staff, teachers, Learning Support Assistants, Childminders, holiday camp staff or parent and toddler group volunteers. This course is assessed through ongoing assessment of practical skill and a written knowledge assessment (usually completed as the course progresses as opposed to a final written exam). There is no final summative assessment. Certification: HABC Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
